We're planning a birthday party!
I can't believe that we are planning Parker's first birthday party! I am just so excited about it! I started thinking about the first birthday the moment we found out we were pregnant. Is that weird?
His personality is really developing. Strong willed is an UNDERSTATEMENT. He does not like to be told no, but I don't guess that many 1 year olds do. If you make him mad enough, he will head butt you. Great, huh? I'm not really sure how to get him to stop that. Any advice?? He loves to play with my cell phone and we try not to let him get it because he will have a come apart when we take it away. He was a great eater but he's going through a really weird phase right now. Before we could give him ANYTHING and he would eat it. Now, he would be happy with bread at every meal. He is obsessed with the yogurt melts. He would eat the entire bag if we would let him. He did love the baby goldfish but he's not wanting them now. His eating changed when he got hand, foot, mouth and it just never returned to normal. Hopefully, it's just a phase.
He is completly off the bottle which makes me sad. We always called them a "shake, shake" and he would smile and wave his arms in excitement as we shook them up. He is just drinking whole milk now and he seems to be enjoying it more each day.
One of his favorite things to play with in his toy basket is books. They have always been there but he has just now started playing with them. He likes to "read" the ones with real pictures. He loves to look at pictures of cats and as soon as he sees Cane, our cat or a picture of a cat he says.. eow. (meow) It's so cute! He will also roar when you ask him what a lion says. Sometimes you have to prompt him first. My child is so smart!! :)))
He has been saying mama and dada and he will say it when he sees us. His favorite TV show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When the music starts, he just SMILES and dances. It is adorable.
He is so close to walking. He walks along all of the furniture and will let go occasionally but he hasn't been brave enough to take those first steps alone. I think that they should happen any day now because all three of the other kids at Mrs. Jackie's are walking.
He is still a great sleeper at night. He goes to sleep between 7-7:30 and he sleeps until 6 or 6:30 the next morning. He has dropped his morning nap most days and just takes one afternoon nap from 12:30-2:30. Mrs. Jackie still tries to get him to take a morning nap and most days he won't. It is frustrating though because by 6 pm he is ill as a hornet! He really needs two naps a day. He won't let us rock him to sleep at night. He just wants to be laid down and he immediately goes to sleep. We know that we are lucky he does this but we do miss rocking him to sleep at night.
Here is what most days look like for us:
6:30 Get Parker up and let him play in his pack n play while I finish getting ready for work
7:00 Feed Parker breakfast
7:30 Take Parker to Mrs. Jackie's house and head Chad and I head to work. :(
8:00-3:00 Work like a crazy person teaching Kindergarten
3:30 Go get my BABY!! The best part of the day!
4:00 Play with Parker at home and wait for daddy to get home!
5:30 Feed Parker dinner
6:00 Give Parker a bath and play
7:00 or 7:30 Put Parker to bed and then start my second job of taking care of the house!
I haven't updated with many pictures lately so here are a few recent pictures.
